Preserving Community Character, Promoting Community Growth

A native of Oxford, OH, I attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. After graduating with a BA in Government, I joined Teach for America and began teaching pre-kindergarten special education here in DC at Meyer Elementary School. During this time I launched a parent training program and earned a MAT in special education at Trinity University.

After three years with DCPS, I moved to EL Haynes public charter school where I taught general education for two years.

Currently, I work with The New Teacher Project ensuring that new teachers entering the classroom are having a significant impact on student achievement.

Having lived in this neighborhood for 7 years, I firmly believe we live in one of DC's most amazing and unique areas. Driven by my desire to preserve our community character and promote our community growth, I look forward to representing your voice.
